Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enforcement of all criminal, fish and wildlife, and motor vehicle laws.
  • Investigation of crimes, fish and wildlife violations, and motor vehicle accidents.
  • Provide police services which are fair and impartial to all citizens.
  • Preserve the peace.
  • Prevention and detection of crime.
  • Coordination of police activities with all criminal justice agencies.

Working Conditions:
  • Make enforcement contacts with the public with some risk to their safety and are required to respond to a variety of emergency situations, some of which may be life-threatening in nature.
  • Work varied hours of the day or night, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather and on difficult terrain.
  • Subject to call-back to duty in case of emergencies, court, etc.
  • Maintain a level of physical fitness in order to perform duties under any conditions.
